ENTRANCE TO THE NARROWS |
The Grand Wash is a nice, four-mile round-trip hike located along Highway 24 in Capitol Reef National Park. As the trailhead is located along the Highway, no entrance fee is required. You can also add Cassidy Arch onto this hike for an additional 3.5 miles as I did when I first visited in November of 2007. Grand Wash is a very flat, easy stroll. The scenery is nice the entire way, but after about a mile of walking, the canyon narrows up, and becomes even more impressive. The narrows section lasts for about a mile before the canyon opens up again.
